Originally, we planned for a 12-day (April 13-May 5) vacation only..however, unwanted circumstance happened when my dad's salary was hold for over a week. He was supposed to received his salary April 15, just in time for our desired date to go back (April 23). So in short, the lack of money prevented us from coming back.
The last time I stepped on our hometown was more than 9 years ago, when we had to attend Nanay's burial (Mum's mother). I was Grade 5 then. Now, i just graduated and it's obvious that a lot has changed. Mejo sayang lang that hindi man lang nmn naabutan si Tatay (Mom's dad) who passed away just two months ago.
So after 9 years, nakatapak ulit ako in my birthplace: The City of Golden Friendship: Cagayan de Oro City. Today, it almost looked like any other city here.. but of course there are more natural and amazing sceneries there than tall buildings, unlike in Manila. Foods are a lot cheaper, and abundant, and the air's fresher. It's a good place to find a good mix of natural resouces, scenic views and a well-developed place all in one.
But what's more lovely to my eyes than seeing again my long lost relatives. I was surprised to see my younger cousins before who now became bigger, taller and darker, just as how I thought they were amazed to see us na malalaki na rin..haha.. it's nice also seeing my other cousins I've never seen before (born within the 9 years span).
During our whole vacation, we did a lot of eating (no doubt I gained 5 pounds), swimming inside at outside CDO, chatting, travelling and a lot of fun stuff to make up for lost times..hehe
Also it's great that we were still there during Lola's 72nd birthday last May 2. It was pleasing to see everyone at my dad's side gathered all together merrily. The night seemed complete though wala si daddy, anti Kit and uncle Jov and his family. Pero syempre iba pa rin if everyone's present.
I thank God for the opportunity to go back there. Good thing our vacation was extended for 10 more days..hehe..*Sana maulit muli*
